Doris Bolender

Doris Bolender is the Superintendent/Principal for the Southside School District. She wears the responsibility of almost all of the administrative roles served in any district including Parent/Community Liaison, SPED, Bilingual and Migrant, and Homeless Contact, Safety Officer, Human Resources Director, Grant Coordinator, etc. She has served several roles in the education field before being appointed as the Superintendent/Principal in July 2012. Prior to this position Bolender has over 20 years as a building principal and 10 years as a teacher. She has worked at elementary, middle, and high school levels. She has also served as a district director for Prevention/Support/Intervention K-12.

Mrs. Bolender has a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science (Pre-Law) from the University of Puget Sound, a Bachelor of Arts in Education from Central Washington University, a Masters of Educational Administration from the University of Puget Sound, and her Superintendent Program and Certificate from Western Washington University. Doris Bolender has published educational articles in Educational Leadership and AWSP (Principal) Publications. She has been a facilitator and trainer for strategic planning, fiscal analysis and budget building, team building, data carousels, curriculum alignment, and differentiated instruction. She has participated in capital projects including new construction, building renovation and remodel, and a community
