Attendance Matters!

We want success for every child. In order to make that possible, we need them to be at school. Our goal is to work with you to provide an education that is required and beneficial for all of our students.

The average elementary student is absent 5-6 days per year and may have 1-2 tardies. How does your child’s attendance compare?

A high volume of absences and tardies, excused or unexcused, makes it very difficult to complete all of the work assigned in the regular classroom and impossible to obtain everything that is covered during their absence. Research has demonstrated a direct correlation to student(s) success level and school attendance. Standards and expectations for what is covered have greatly increased in comparison to even a decade ago making attendance crucial — at even the kindergarten level.

Your child’s education and attendance is of the utmost importance to us and requires collaboration between all parties.  If your child will not be attending school due to an illness, medical appointment, vacation, etc., please notify the office as soon as possible so we may record the absence appropriately. We are required to take daily attendance and notify you when your child has an unexcused absence. Those absences that are not justified can result in an unexcused absence which must be reported as such and may result in truancy proceedings.
